About the Water Street Center

Operated by the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission (TJPDC), this centrally located conference center and meeting space is adjacent to the TJPDC offices on Water Street and one block off Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall. The Water Street Center is ideally suited to host meetings, conferences and workshops.

The Water Street Center Features:

  • Movable seating for up to 56 people (max 36 seated at tables)
  • Podium
  • Screen (Note: room users must provide a laptop computer for presentations)
  • Wall mounted pin‐up boards
  • Wireless internet access
  • Self‐service kitchen including sink and refrigerator

  • ADA accessible restroom available during business hours

State & regional government agencies (Regional = 3 or more local governments)

  • $35/ hour – minimum 2-hour reservation
  • $200 daily maximum
  • $35 food surcharge per event if applicable

Local governments and departments (debited against annual local contributions to TJPDC)

  • $35/ hour – minimum 2-hour reservation
  • $200 daily maximum
  • $35 food surcharge per event if applicable

Non-profit & community use 

  • $35/ hour – minimum 2-hour reservation
  • $200 daily maximum
  • $35 food surcharge per event if applicable

For-profit & individual use

  • $50/ hour – minimum 2-hour reservation
  • $300 daily maximum
